    Veterans Park, Obetz Ohio

On Memorial Day weekend I made a trip "into town" to pick up some bread
and was delighted to see the gazebo in Veterans Park decorated for the holiday.

    This is my town!

South Columbus is more like country living and the town we call home is Obetz. If you blink you may miss it. Former home to the Columbus Crew training facility, Obetz is a great place to live.

SkyWatch Friday; A hole in the clouds!

As this spring storm was rolling into central Ohio, the sun was determined
    to make a midday appearance.

    SkyWatch Friday; High Street

As I traveled through downtown Columbus, this area seemed to close in on me. Buildings appeared to tower above and cast shadows across the entire street.

    Zooming in on the "L"....

I did a little cropping on the original photo from this mornings "That's My World Tuesday" post.
One advantage to shooting in 3264 m image mode is the ability to clearly zoom in on
objects that may be lost in the picture.

    On Memorial Day...

I waited a few minutes for a gust of wind to come along and bring the
stars and stripes to life. As you can see, it was an eerily calm day with
    much cloud cover.

    Full Moon Columbus, Part 2

I captured the moon again. You can tell the days are getting longer as this photo
shows the remaining minutes of daylight as the moon is rising in the east. Again, I wasn't prepared and shot this with my Nikon L18.*

    Full Moon...

I had to scramble to get this shot before it ducked behind the clouds, so it's not as sharp as past moon shots when I had time to attach the tripod and correctly set the E-410. This was taken with my Nikon L18.*

    Corn or soybeans?

I live in south Columbus and beyond the 270 loop you see acres of farmland in various stages. A week or two from now this plot will have seeds in the ground.

Here's the 3rd guy in my life (behind my son and husband of course) waiting, like he always does, at 4:50PM, for my husband to come home from work.

I just got the call, he's running late. And Hershey knows it.....

    Still celebrating

I love to photograph in black and white, but once I posted the B&W photo along with the original color picture, I found I was partial to the color picture. What do you think?

If you travel the countryside in my state you'll see at least one of these Ohio Bicentennial Barns.

Ohio celebrated it's bicentennial 6 years ago in 2003. I'm glad most farmers have kept the statewide banners on their homestead barns.
I used my Olympus Evolt E410 for these pictures.*
